The bachelor of public health program is made up of a selection of required courses that highlight the five public health concentrations. Beyond these required courses, students are given the opportunity to choose elective courses. While it may not seem as though all of my elective courses are inherently related to public health, they all provided me with valuable information that I carry through my research and future public health work. Sports and developmental psychology have given me insight into different areas of the medical field, helping me to understand the importance of and differences in mental health across different areas of interest. International hospitality management afforded me in depth experience with different cultures around the world, which will be invaluable during my research related travel.
